Two weeks ago I had the great privilege of attending the Healthcare Industry User Group in Phoenix, AZ for their yearly conference, and what a conference it was. If you are a part of the Healthcare community and you have not attended HIUG in the past, then you missed an amazing event. Over 600 Oracle Healthcare customers and partners met in Phoenix, Arizona for the 2018 HIUG conference. PeopleSoft customers from HCM, Supply chain, and Financials were well represented at the conference and excited with what Oracle is doing to continue the evolution of the PeopleSoft applications. I attended multiple presentations and heard stories of success and an energy around the PeopleSoft HCM application. Many healthcare customers are continuing to make PeopleSoft their primary HCM application, with some customers in attendance just going live for the first time on PeopleSoft HCM this year. Several customers made the comment that PeopleSoft is to their business what EPIC® is to their patient practice. The investment that Oracle is making to PeopleSoft HCM and ELM applications as well as PeopleTools is being recognized and applauded. PeopleSoft HCM sessions were well attended and customers came with their questions in hand. Some of the biggest areas of discussion included:
Position Management – This year we presented and discussed with customers many enhancements coming to the PeopleSoft HCM system for position Management. Position management has always played a huge role in helping to maintain budgets within our healthcare customers and the excitement and encouragement from our customers around seeing the enhancements that will be coming over the next 12 months was exhilarating. We had the opportunity to not only share what Oracle is doing, but many customers also shared what they have done to help make position management better in their own organizations.
Profile Management and tracking of License and Certification – Customer conversation continued this year as it has in previous years with best practices around the tracking of License and Certification and the use of Profile Management to help make this task more automated. We offered a round table session this year to get ideas from customers. We shared new enhancements around attachments which was a huge ask last year and will be available soon in the core HCM product. The conversation was invaluable to the Oracle team and gave us something to take back and look at as we look towards making PeopleSoft the HCM application of choice for Healthcare.
If you were unable to attend, I hope to see you in Orlando next year as our Healthcare customers bring together their combined experiences to ultimately enhance patient care through maintaining of accurate employee records, rewarding employees and retaining of best in class employees, all with the help of Oracle PeopleSoft HCM.
