As customers moved to the 9.2 release, one of the biggest challenges they experienced was keeping up to date with what PeopleSoft was making available with new technology and application features on a continuous basis. This challenge sparked a top-down commitment to use multiple avenues of communication to engage PeopleSoft customers on a regular basis, including using tools such as this blogging platform, popular social media outlets like Twitter and Facebook, the My Oracle Support customer community Discussion and Ideas Spaces, Webinars/Webcasts, PeopleSoft Talks and Spotlight Series via YouTube, and of course user conferences such as Alliance, Collaborate, and Open World.
Speaking of which, the Alliance conference last month in Las Vegas sponsored by our active Higher Education User Group (HEUG) and Public Sector User Group (PSUG) drew nearly 4,000 customers over 4 days of PeopleSoft content and conversations. The majority of the attendees represented customers that were already on our latest 9.2 release and looking to make the most out of new technologies and features such as Fluid self service, Fluid Navigation Collections, PeopleSoft Lifecycle Management tools, Elastic Search, and PeopleTools 8.55 functionality. At least a half dozen customers (including McMaster University, TCU, University of Amsterdam, University of Chicago) showcased their deployment of Fluid in their production environment and shared how Fluid has helped to advance their internal HR initiative for modernization and self service. There was also a lot of interest around how to maximize Fluid capabilities (either delivered or custom), how to make the most of Selective Adoption to stay current and cherry pick new features throughout the year, and best practices around deploying manager guided self service. We also announced that we will be delivering live, monthly webcasts to the entire HEUG/PSUG user group community on a variety of PeopleSoft and HRIT topics that members value the most. Coupled with the live webinars our team already plans to do through My Oracle Support Advisor Webcasts, Quest, and OHUG, we expect to reach over 3,000 customers live and hundreds more with the recorded option this year alone.
Don't fret if you missed Alliance because there are plenty of options to get connected through conferences in 2017. Here is a quick list of some noteworthy upcoming conferences and meetings:
