Recap of RECONNECT 2017 Conference

Last week, the HCM Strategy team attended the RECONNECT conference in Chicago, IL hosted by the Quest International Users Group.  This is one of my favorite conferences since it is exclusively PeopleSoft – with focus on HCM, Supply Chain, Financials and PeopleTools.  RECONNECT continues to grow in popularity with over 600 attendees and 160 sessions, SIG meetings and networking events.

Marc Weintraub (Sr. Director of Product Strategy) and Rebekah Jackson (VP for Product Management) kicked off the conference with a very interactive discussion about “Today’s PeopleSoft”.  Key take a ways were:

  • Approximately 70% of PeopleSoft customers are on release 9.2 with majority of customers on a ‘current’ image (within 3 images – thanks to Selection Adoption).
  • Customers have really embraced Fluid – the new modern PeopleSoft experience for their employees, managers and administrators.
  • Oracle continues to invest in the PeopleSoft product with input from our customers.  With the launch of the PeopleSoft Ideas page, customers can submit their ideas (enhancement request) and other customers can vote for or against the idea.  HCM Strategy uses the Ideas page to see what new features are our customers want and we have delivered numerous ‘customer ideas’ over this past year.

PeopleSoft HCM customers and partners did a great job presenting their experiences deploying new features like Guided Self Service, Fluid Candidate Gateway and Fluid Self Service.   There has been a huge customer uptake with Fluid this past year – approximately 40% HCM customers have deployed a Fluid feature like Payslips, Self Service Navigation Collection…  With the majority of customers on 9.2 and current, customers were more engaging and excited to see the new upcoming features presented by the PeopleSoft Strategy Team like:

  • “All Aboard” – One of the most anticipated features being delivered in HCM Image #23 is Day One Onboarding!!!  As part of Core HR, the PeopleSoft Onboarding solution allows you to configure templates per your organizations onboarding process using fluid activity guides

    Fluid Total Rewards – This is a win-win feature to deploy because, delivered in HCM Image #20, Total Rewards communicates all of the compensation that an employee receives, including direct compensation, and other benefits that are translated into amounts.   Customers have said it was very easy to configure and deploy, and their employees were able to see ‘their true value’ to the organization.

  • Payroll ‘Component’ Lockout – This new feature has been a top customer request by Payroll for NA customer and they are very excited to have this functionality delivered in HCM Image #23.  The ‘lockout’ allows a Payroll administrator to disable 20 delivered payroll and 4 self-service ePay components during calc & confirm processing, on demand, or by schedule.
